This is my own reminder that I am free and I need to free myself from the things that hurt me, and that no one can tell me how to live my life, for it is mine and no one else’s.
This was my second tattoo. It’s a black bird, branching off into a tree. I chose this piece because it represents the death of my past. Black birds represents death and mourning. I said goodbye to my past, therefore the bird flying away is a new life being born; hence the tree which symbolizes a new life.
